Timber Property Entrances
K-Far Rural Services can enhance and add value to your property by creating a timber entrance specific to your needs. Post and rail fences are often seen alongside roadways and enhancing the gardens of many homes of distinction and character in the Hunter Valley.
Slashing & Mulching
K-Far Rural Services can slash or mulch your land according to your requirements or assist you meet regulations set down by government agencies such as the NSW Rural Fire Service.
Slashing and mowing are economical methods of fuel break preparation to reduce fire risk to your property.
Specific fire mitigation works, including the creation of asset protection zones, which meet the requirements of the NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Department of Lands, can also be completed.
Slashing and mulching works have also been completed for real estate agents on behalf of landlords and for the creation of new subdivisions.
K-Far Rural Services is a preferred contractor of the NSW Rural Fire Service – Hunter and Lower Hunter Zones. Minimum hourly hire applies.
Cattle Mustering & Marking
K-Far Rural Services can muster your cattle using traditional methods. No motorbikes or dogs are used during the mustering process. Only horses are used during mustering. This ensures the cattle arrive calmly at the yards.
K-Far Rural Services can also mark cattle. Suitable equipment, such as cattle yards, crush or calf cradle are required.
Cattle Yard Construction & Repairs
K-Far Rural Services can work with you to design your own timber cattle or horse yards. Examples of yard layouts can be provided.
Tractor Operation
K-Far Rural Services currently uses reliable, well-maintained Massey Ferguson® 72hp, 90hp and 130hp 4WD tractors. Each tractor has a front-end loader four-in-one bucket.

The four-in-one bucket allows easy removal of existing fence posts and strainers.

Soil Cultivation & Fertiliser Spreading

Hay Supplies
K-Far Rural Services can supply round or small square hay bales.
The hay is produced from lucerne and/or other grasses grown on the rich alluvial flats of Maitland and watered by the Hunter River.
The hay is suitable for horses and cattle. Various grades available. Delivery can be arranged within the Hunter Valley. Contact K-Far Rural Services to obtain a current market price.

Chainsaw Operation
K-Far Rural Services has qualified operators using a chainsaw to point the end of posts, mortice railings into posts and to bevel edges of posts. Other safe chainsaw tasks can be conducted on request.
Strict adherence to the Australian Standard ® 2727 (1997) Chainsaws – Guide to safe working practices are maintained at all times.
Locum Farm Management/Worker
Ever wanted a holiday where you didn’t need to worry about feeding stock? K-Far Rural Services can provide a caretaker service, whereby your stock are fed and fences and water are checked in accordance with your wishes.
Updates and reports will be provided at times convenient to you, so you can relax whilst on holiday or away from your farm or property.
